SHAPES is a free health education program for seniors living in the community. It is part of a University of Alberta research project. As part of the program, you will receive workshops and attend discussion sessions on healthy aging. The workshops will be led by peers who have been trained by the expert faculty in the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta.
What SHAPES Is All About

Canadians are living longer than ever before. Encouragement of lifestyle practices which promote healthy aging and self - management techniques to deal with chronic diseases are important in ensuring that seniors live healthy, active and enjoyable lives
The purpose of this study is to provide peer delivered education and support for seniors living in the community and see if there is an effect on healthy ageing behaviours and improved knowledge about health of community dwelling seniors.
